BR1-11: Houses Then and Now

Do you like to spend your house? I like to spend my house,especially a living room and my room. I usually spend in a living room and watch TV or talk to my family or do homework. I moved to Kumamoto about 16 years ago, so my house was built about 16 years ago.

This book told about the old and new houses and old house was built in 1903. Wow~, it's about 100 years ago!! The living room is called " parlour". There were no TVs, so they read books, sewes clothes and played board games there. The interior has a sense of high quality and the furniture is also. I thought the old house has many wooden things, for example, chairs, a wall, tables, shelves and so on. And brick things are also many. I was surprised at the thing that they didn't have a toilet in their house. The toilet was outside!!

The new house is very simple and has many rooms and the living room is called " the family room". There are many electric appliances, you know. It became more and more confortable to live in.

It is interesting to think about the old house and new house. They are contained the family structure, way of spend, cultures and progress of technology.

BR1-10: Rain, Rain, Rain!

In Japan, now is the rainy season and it is only rainy day or cloudy. Do you like the rainy day? I don't like it because it makes my feel down and shoes are damp when I walk outside.
The main character, a girl Faye was late for school, so she went ready for school and went out in a hurry without eating breakfast. Her mother stopped her leaving but Faye didn't notice. The outside was heavy rain but she got on her bike and went to school in a hurry. But her bike hit a dog and she fell off her bike, so she couldn't get the bus. She run and run to the school, and then she saw a plate on the school gate and it said," No school today. School holiday."
What's a disastrous story!! I've also misunderstood same her before. It was Sunday, but I thought " Today is Monday". I thought I was late for school and went ready for school in a hurry like her but my family was having a bread while watching on TV. Then I thought " Oh, today is Sunday?So...I don't have to go to the school! All right!". Have you experienced like these?
Any way, I hope summer comes to Kumamoto soon!

Massy's room: My dream
I choosed Massy's room post " My dream" is most interesting because her dream is funny and so fantastic! I also see strange story in a dream many times, so I could understand her feelings well.
She became a old wich woman and lived a foreign counry in her dream. She could use a magic and was flying. I feel envious of her dream because it's really precious experience. We can't use magic and fly into the sky, so even if it is just a dream, it precious experience. I laughed at when I read this phrase, "Mr. Patric was also flying with big smile". I think Mr. Patric may be a wizard!!

My Keitai

Recently, most people useing a mobile phone even children. I have a mobile phone and use it everyday if nesessary. It has so many functions, for example, phone, camera, mail, internet, caluculator and so on. It is really convenient for us. I don't often use my keitai but when I forgot to bring it to school, I couldn't get into communication with friend, so I was really inconvenienced then. In other day, I brought my keitai to school but it run-down, so it need charging. The day was rainy, so I needed the car coming for me but I couldn't call my mom. This is another inconvenienced case.

BR1-09: The Barbecue

Do you like the barbecue?I really like barbecue because it is exciting and the meals are delicious!!
There are many people and eat with chatting. Most Japanese eat supper in the house, so we feel it is a special thing to eat outside.
The main character, Donut and his sister Cleo's mother becomes forty, so they has her fortieth birthday party which is a big barbecue and they invited all. Everyone on Story Street enjoyed to have and was dancing with Cleo's mum. It looks so fun! I'd like to join the barbecue. But it need to pay attention when you cook outside because there are tree and fence, so there is a possibility that cause a fire. If it happen, you should call out the fire brigade soon. In this story, they called out the fire brigade with different happening. Cleo's father who cook the barbecue, sing a song and he began to climb the big tree and then he couldn't get down! Oh~, how silly the dad is. A firefighter helped him. Even so, I felt I'd like to do a barbecue with my family and my friend in the near future. I think summer is the best!

Recently, people always use computer, use the internet and exchange information. Computer is very usefull, so it is a living necessaries. The good points of using computer are we can collect necessary information from over the world whenever we want and we can give our information to the world. It is very important thing because we can always get new thinking from others or other different country's people. In the bad points of this, there are danger that incoming informtion may be false and there are the person who intentionaly release faise information. People can't distinguish fact from fiction.

Essay1-05: My Language Learning History ~ Learning Languages make my world broaden!"~

I will talk about my language learning history. I speak Japanese because my mother country is Japan, you know. I began to speak language when I was a baby of 10 month of age and sung a Japanese tulip song " 咲いた咲いた" when I was one year old. My parent said "You started to speak language early." I was not interested in English or another language when I was a elementary school student. A English teacher who taught me English when I was a first-year student in junior high school changed my mind and then I became to be interested in English. This is the beginning of my language learning history!

The class was so interesting and we sung many English songs such a Beatles' song, Carpenters' song, "country road" and so on. I like the class and the English teacher because it made my world broaden. The teacher went abroad to teach Japanese to other country's student, so I was so sad and said good-bye to the teacher. In my second-year, it changed my history big. There was a chance to go abroad!

My junior high school has a program to home stay in Australia. I had no brave to go abroad then, so I was not going to run for the program. And yet, my best friend asked me to run for the system together. I wrestle with the choice whether go or not. I consulted with my parent and my parent said " It is a good chance for you! You should apply for the home stay program!! Encouraged by the parent's words, I decided to apply for the program and wrote an essay and was interviewed in English and Japanese. Then I was elected by Kikuyo town and was dispatched. First, I couldn't speak English well with my host family or students in class because I was nervous and I can only speak English such as "Hello! My name is Nozomi. I am a junior high school student and I can play the piano". A week passed, I became I want to talk more with my host sister but I didn't know how to speak English more. I was so vexed with I couldn't speak English well, so I thought I should study English more and I want to be a person who can speak English well and talk more with other country's people. This is one of my reason that I study English. And it was a very precious experience for me!



I participated in English recitation contest, so I practiced English pronunciation everyday. My English teacher always teach me pronunciation zealously, so I and my partner took second place in Kikuchi county and we speeched on the stage in front of the whole student body. I was so nervous then, but I tried to do my best. It gave me a confidence of speak English. I think having confidence is one of the important skills for me. I studied English more in my high school days, and I became I like learning English more and more.

In my university life, I encountered new languages, Spanish and Korean. It was difficult to learn because I've learned only English until then, so I needed to change my thinking for grammar or pronunciation or words. However, I like to learn them because if I can speak them, I can make friends more in other countries and then my new view of the world opens up. Now I want to learn them more and encounter other languages such as Chinese or French or something like that. I participated English speech contest and I really sometimes joined the English lounge. I took a TOEFL and TOEIC course in after school or spring vacation to master English skills.
How I study English is I take a radio English conversation program, I watch movies in English and I study English to get high score in TOEIC.

In conclusion, to learn English or other languages make my world broaden because I can communicate with different country's people and know other culture and thinking. To know other country is to know my country because I can find the differences between Japan and other. I would like to find a job using English or contact with abroad. I'll go abroad more and make friends with all over the world. In my future, I'll travel the world and get knowledge. In order to communicate with other smoothly, I'll try to study English and other languages more harder!!

Mooovie"Before sunrise"

I love watching movies. I like love story, comedy, fantasy and action movie, except horror. It is difficult for me to elect special one, but I like "Before sunrise". It is a love story and a little bit old movie, but once I watched it, I was hooked on the movie because the townscape of Wien was so beautiful and cool. A man and a woman met a train and they are from different country. They are the first meeting, but they fall in love and got out the train and had a date in unknown place before sunrise. It's a romantic movie! I steeped in the atmosphere of romantic scenery and their distance. Their conversation was one of the interesting point. The conversation is intellectual issue and they talk naturally with relaxed. I love this movie.

BR1-08:Pirate Adventure

Do you like pirates? I think pirates are savage people and very frightening people. When I was a child, I saw pirates in the animation of Disney's "Peter Pan". The pirates are a little bit frightening people, but they enjoyed their life. They always sing songs of pirates and play a thrill game.

A girl, Biff didn't like pirates because she read a book about pirates. Biff and her friends played in Biff's room and looked at a magic house. Biff brought a magic key and then the magic key was working. The children got smaller and smaller because of the magic working. They open the magic house's door and went inside the house. There were beautiful sea and sand and jungle!! They play there, but three pirates came up and found the children. Oh my God!!! I thought.

They rode on the boat and went to the huge pirate ship. There were many pirates and they held a welcome party for the children. They enjoyed the party until the time to say good-bye. Pirates was sad because the children came back home. It's a pirate adventure, so Biff liked the pirate.

I changed my thinking of image of pirate after I read the book. They are friendly and love a party. If I were Biff or other children, I would go magic house everyday and enjoy the party with pirates. It's very funny adventure, but we have to be cautions of pirates because they are not friend and sometimes very frightening people.

My textbook " Tom and Jerry"

I love this animation "Tom and Jerry" since I was a child. There are no language, so everyone can understand the story. It doesn't matter whether we are Japanese or American or other. Why we can understood the story is that there are used many gestures, expressions. It is one of the reason. We can understand that Tom is now angry or happy or plan something evil because he always change his expressions and use gesture. The second reason is back music. These music is match with the story. When Jerry feel happy and enjoy something, the music will be rhythmical and when Jerry feel danger, the music will turn to be serious. These music tell us the character's feelings or the situations.

I learned many things by the animation " Tom and Jerry". It is one of my textbook of communication skills.

BR1-07:Gran

I read this book because before my book review was story about "Baby", so I'd like to compare "Baby" and "Gran".
Gran came to grandchild's house with lot of bags and Gran kissed everyone. The children like Gran, so they pulled Gran's arms and said, " Come and see my toy and room!! Let's play!" Gran played with the children actively, but she only failed like she broke a window because of a kick at soccer ball. Then, Gran took the children out in her old car, The car like Gran, I thought.
They went to the fun park and played a Jumping Castle. The Jumping Castle can play only children, but Gran went on the castle and jumped and bounced. The children and Gran enjoyed to play, but...Gran made a hole in the Jumping Castle and the castle began to go down! Oh noooo!!!
Gran was scolded by officer, so they went back home. Gran was sad. After that, she found a magic key in Chip's room and she showed it children. Then, the magic worked and the magic took them to a new adventure!

I was thrilled the happen with expectation and I thought " What will happen next?".
By the way, I thought Gran like a child because she doesn't forget a child's mind or may be she return to the innocence of childhood. Anyway, she can play like a child and can enjoy playing with children. I think it is very important thing and this is the secret to staying young! I'd like to be like Gran in this story, so I'll try even if I'll be a gran.

About Foreign Countries

I like foreign countries because they have different culture, music, clothes, buildings and scenery from Japan. I have been to Hawaii with my family and relative when I was six years old. It was my first trip to foreign country, so I was surprised at everything what I saw. One of my future dreams is to travel around the world and see much beautiful scenery and make friends in the world. I love travel to foreign country, so I study now to take a qualification of a certified travel consultant.

BR1-06: The Baby Day

The story is very interesting and there is a thing to learn.

The main character is a boy whose name is Billy and he has a little sister, Jasmine. She is a baby and she is mischievous and very cute.
One day, Billy's teacher, Mrs Ambrose had asked Billy's mother to take Jasmine into school. The　purpose was a project on "Young and Old" in the class. Billy was opposite about it. Billy's classmate, Clare was a new girl but she was mean and everyone didn't like her. For all that, everyone admired her because she came from bigger school and seemed clever. Clare always find everything about her school boring and abused other people. When she heard that Billy's sister come to school, she said " Oh, yawn! What could be more boring than Billy's boring baby?"
At first, they were boring about it like Clare, but when the baby came to class and she smiled, they began to be interested about her. She moved very often and played. Then Clare became to be interested about her and played with her with laughing.
I thought it was a good opportunity to know about a baby. It is not an actual that a baby can nothing but crying. Baby has a lot of possibility and energy and other interesting points. Baby taught us many things that we can't find the point. I thought children are genius about playing. I felt I'd like to play with baby!!

Date with Hideyo Noguchi in Star Backs

Yesterday, I went to Star Backs with Noguchi Hideyo. I drunk chocolate taste Frappuchino and he drunk coffee jerry Frappucchino. It's very delicious and I felt relax in that time. But after drunk it, I went to a toilet many times because coffee has diuretic effect! I said "Oh, I want to a toilet again!!" in a all day. I like to go to Star Backs and I want to try many kind of drinks and cakes with Hideyo Noguchi! haha:)

Essay 1-04(amusement): Love Fantasy

Today, I will talk about one of the special amusement park, Disney Land and my memory of going there. Amusement park is a very interesting and exiting place, isn't it? I love amusement park, especially Disney Land since I was a baby. I went there about eight or nine times with my relative or my lovely cousin or my family. When I went there, I felt that I want to go Disney Land again!!! So I love to go Disney Land.

Disney Land is fantasy, dreamy and exiting place and give all people dreams and emotions. I think that people who went there, might think that they want there again with their precious person. Disney has many animations and interesting, funny, lovely characters, so to meet them makes us glad and happy. There are many characters like mickey mouse, Minny mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and other characters like Cinderella, beast, Aladdin and so on. It makes us as if we are in the animated cartoon.

I read a biography of Walt Disney when I was a junior school student, so I will talk about him a little. His hometown is Missouri state and he was interested in drawing a picture and art when he was a child. He draw a picture of nature and animals while he study in the school. When he was a junior high school student, he became to interested in taking picture and written to a newspaper. He also went to a technical school of art in night to build up his techniques of art. He loves performance and mimic of Charlie Chaplin. He had never give up his dream, so his dreams come true.

When the opening ceremony of Disney Land, he made such speech, "I hope Disney land will be the place which give people a happiness and adults and children can experience adventure and wonder of life and can create some cheerful memories." I think he is a grate dreamer and hard worker, so he could give dreams to world people. Also he has a mind of a child, so Disney Land has many points of child view. I think it's important to have a mind of child because most adult forget their child mind and can't think flexibly. Such being the case, Disney Land becomes the place which everyone enjoy the place.

My family also love Disney Land, especially my dad! When we met Mickey mouse in his house, dad greeted Mickey mouse with a grate bear hug and said," Hi! Mickey! I'm glad to meet you!!" We enjoyed attractions and show. In the show, we danced with many people and characters. It's so nice time and I really enjoyed the time with my family. In the park, everyone is my friend.
